September 14, (THEWILL) – Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken publicly after his reported release from detention in the United Kingdom, insisting that he did not commit the offences he has been accused of.
Poco Lee addressed the situation during a video call with social media activist VeryDarkMan, who shared the conversation online on Sunday, September 13.
The conversation came days after reports emerged that the dancer had been released from UK custody following his detention over five sexual offence charges.
The reports initially confused online, with some social media users claiming that the complainant had withdrawn the case or that the matter had been settled out of court.
However, there was no official confirmation of those claims.
The situation drew further attention after a video surfaced showing Poco Lee with singer Burna Boy.
VeryDarkMan initially shared the clip as “proof of life” after questions were raised about whether Poco Lee was actually out of custody.
VeryDarkMan later held a video call with the dancer, providing further confirmation that he was out of custody.
During the call, he also remarked that Poco Lee looked fresh despite the ordeal.
Speaking about his experience, Poco Lee said he remained calm because he knew he had not committed the offences alleged against him.
“I was being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries out there were my people,” he said.
He explained that he would have accepted the situation if he had actually committed the alleged offences, but maintained that he did nothing wrong.
“If I to say I do wetin person talk, I for say, ‘Omo, I dey suffer for my sins,’ but as I no do anything, my mind is as pure, because nobody would have wanted to attach themselves to something like that,” he said.
Poco Lee also thanked Burna Boy, Rahman Jago and others who stood by him during the difficult period.
He said their support meant a lot to him, particularly because people could easily distance themselves from someone facing serious allegations.

He added that he was also worried about the effect of the situation on people around him, especially those whose businesses and activities were affected while he was in detention.
Poco Lee is facing five sexual offence charges, including two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
Although claims that the charges had been dropped or that the case had been settled out of court circulated online, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active.
The CPS said Poco Lee is scheduled to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing.
The prosecution service has not publicly confirmed whether he was released on bail or under another form of court supervision.
Poco Lee has denied the allegations and has not been convicted of any offence.
During his conversation with VeryDarkMan, the dancer also gave a light-hearted warning to men based on his experience.
“Use 18 hours fear women,” he said.
His next court appearance is expected to provide the latest development in the ongoing case.
