August 27, (THEWILL) — Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has been formally charged with five sexual offences in the United Kingdom.
Snaresbrook Crown Court in London confirmed the charges on Wednesday, August 26, following earlier reports about the entertainer’s detention and upcoming court appearance.
According to the court, Poco Lee faces one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The court’s Admin Team Leader, James Baker, confirmed the charges in an email to PUNCH and said the case is listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
A reporting restriction has also been placed on the case, preventing the publication of information that could identify the complainant.
How the case began
Reports of Poco Lee’s detention in the UK began circulating online on August 19, 2026, with reports claiming that he had been arrested in connection with a sexual offence.
The court later confirmed that he was due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15. At the time, however, the specific charges had not been publicly disclosed.
The latest confirmation provides the first official details of the charges against the entertainer.
Poco Lee’s management and legal team have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information and allow the legal process to take its course.
His team also denied social media reports claiming that drink-spiking was part of the case, saying the allegation does not form part of the charges before the court.
