September 07, (THEWILL) — Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, closed the 2026 edition of Afro Plus Fest in Maryland, United States, on Sunday.
The singer headlined the final night of the three-day festival, which ran from September 4 to 6 at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland.
Afro Plus Fest was launched in 2025, with its inaugural edition held as a one-day event at the RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, D.C., on August 31.
The festival returned for its second edition in 2026 and expanded to three days.
Wizkid delivered a selection of songs from different stages of his career, including “In My Bed”, “Daddy Yo”, “Bad to Me”, “Slow Down”, “Caro”, “Essence”, “Alaye”, “Jogodo”, “Money & Love” and “Ojuelegba”.
Fellow Nigerian star Olamide also performed during the festival, delivering some of his popular songs and adding to the excitement of the closing night.
He was part of the festival’s official lineup, with his performance scheduled ahead of Wizkid’s closing set.

Wizkid’s performance capped a weekend featuring major names from African and global music.
Davido headlined Friday’s opening night, while Jamaican dancehall star Alkaline took the Saturday headline slot before Wizkid closed the festival on Sunday.
The festival also featured performances from artists including Tems, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Lil Baby, Latto, Sarkodie, Spice, Dexta Daps, Chief Keef and Sexyy Red.
The event featured multiple stages dedicated to Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, Amapiano and other global sounds, bringing together artists and fans from across the African and Caribbean diaspora.
Wizkid’s closing performance brought the three-day festival to an end, with Olamide’s performance adding another highlight to the final night in Maryland.
