August 27, (THEWILL) — Nigerian comedian and content creator, Carter Efe, has opened up about his experiences with Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Davido.
Carter claimed that Wizkid ignored a song he made for him, while Davido supported him during a difficult period in his life.
Speaking during an interview with Madam Joyce, Carter said he would continue to publicly appreciate Davido for the support he received from the singer.
“I’ll keep praising Davido everywhere I go”, he said.
Carter recalled making a song for Wizkid but claimed the singer did not respond to it.
The song “Machala”, was released in July 2022 and featured singer Berri Tiga. The track was a tribute to Wizkid and became a major hit, reaching No. 1 on Nigeria’s Apple Music Top 100 chart shortly after its release.
Despite the song’s success and strong reception among Wizkid’s fans, Carter said the singer did not publicly acknowledge the track.
“Davido is my helper. I don’t give a fuck about Wizkid, that guy. I did a song for Wizkid; that guy snubbed my whole life”, he said.
Carter contrasted that experience with his relationship with Davido, saying the singer showed him support when he needed it most.

The content creator said he never expected Davido to give him personal attention because of the singer’s status.
“Who am I to say I want to sit down with Davido or he wants to be having conversations with me? I’m too small, but Davido showed me love”, he revealed.
Carter described Davido’s support as a major turning point in his life.
“He came through. He’s just like a God-sent when things were going down for me”, he added.
“I did a song with Wizkid and he completely snubbed me. Davido came and changed my whole life. Who am I to say I want to be sitting and eating with Davido? I will keep praising him everywhere I go. He helped me when I was going down.”

Davido’s impact on Carter Efe

Carter’s comments come after Davido made a surprise appearance on his Twitch livestream in December 2025.
The collaboration became a major milestone for Carter, with the stream attracting about 83,000 viewers. It also helped him become one of Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamers at the time, while he crossed the 20,000-subscriber mark.
Davido also helped Carter secure a brand opportunity during the livestream by contacting Martell’s marketing team on his behalf.
Reflecting on the experience, Carter said Davido’s appearance brought him the biggest financial gain he had made from a single livestream.
“Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
Carter said he remains grateful to Davido for supporting him when he needed help and playing a major role in his career growth.
