August 14, (THEWILL) — Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Wizkid, has been announced as the first headliner for the opening night of the 2026 Detty December Fest in Lagos.
The announcement was made on Thursday, August 13, by festival organisers, Livespot360.
Wizkid will perform on Friday, December 18, at the Detty Festival Stage at the Detty December Village, kicking off the 13-day festival, which will run through December 30.
The singer is the first confirmed headliner for the 2026 edition, with more artists expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The festival will feature two performance stages this year. Wizkid will headline the main Detty Festival Stage, while the newly introduced Detty Pulse Stage will provide a platform for emerging artists and new sounds.
Livespot360 co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Darey Art Alade, said the new stage is designed to create more opportunities for young artistes to perform alongside established acts while contributing to the growth of the local music ecosystem.
Beyond music, the festival will offer a mix of food, fashion, culture and lifestyle experiences. Organisers have also announced attractions including a Christmas Grotto, pop-up markets and Gen Z Republik.
The festival is being produced by Livespot360, which has previously organised major live entertainment events, including Cardi B’s first performances in Nigeria and Ghana.

The inaugural Detty December Fest, held in 2025, attracted more than 40,000 attendees and featured artistes including Busta Rhymes, Gunna, Tiwa Savage, Shenseea, Diamond Platnumz, Phyno, Wande Coal, Fave, Young Jonn, Qing Madi and Ice Prince.
The 2026 festival will form part of Lagos’ wider Detty December celebrations, which attract visitors from across Nigeria and the diaspora during the festive season.
Tickets for the opening concert are already on sale, while more artists and details about the festival programme are expected to be announced ahead of the December event.
