September 15, (THEWILL) – Nigerian singer Tems has hinted at plans for a new album in 2027 during a recent TikTok Live session.
The singer gave fans the update while speaking about her music and upcoming releases.
Tems also revealed that she has been working on a new single but chose not to share much of the song during the livestream.
She explained that she prefers not to release full snippets of her songs before they are officially available, saying repeated exposure to unreleased music can make listeners lose interest before the song is released.
“I don’t wanna give out too much. I feel like giving out snippets of a song diminishes the thing, like you would get tired of it,” she said.
Tems also spoke about her admiration for fellow Nigerian singer Victony, saying she enjoys his music and believes the two artists could sound good together on a song.
A possible 2027 album would follow her debut studio album, “Born in the Wild”, which was released in 2024.
The album earned Grammy nominations, while its single ‘Love Me JeJe’ won Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

In November 2025, Tems followed the album with the surprise seven-track EP “Love Is A Kingdom”.
The project was largely written, composed, and produced by the singer and featured songs including ‘Big Daddy’, ‘Lagos Love’, ‘What You Need’ and ‘Is There A Reason’.
Tems has remained active in 2026, including a performance of ‘What You Need’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March and other live performances.
Beyond the potential album, the singer also joked that she is working on a dedicated Christian music project, saying everyone seems to have something to say about her music.
The project would mark another direction in her upcoming work.
While Tems has not announced a release date or tracklist for the possible 2027 album, her comments indicate that she is already working on new music.
