September 15, (THEWILL) – Davido has won Album of the Year at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) for his album, ‘5ive’.

The Nigerian Afrobeats star was the most-nominated artiste at this year’s ceremony, which marked AFRIMMA’s return after a two-year break.

Davido received five nominations across several categories.

These included Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa, the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award, and Album of the Year for ‘5ive’.

His collaboration with Omah Lay, ‘With You’, also received nominations for Best Collaboration and Song of the Year.

However, it was ‘5ive’ that secured the win for Davido. AFRIMMA’s official results list the album as the winner of Album of the Year.

Released in 2025, ‘5ive’ features collaborations with artists including Omah Lay, Chris Brown, Tay Iwar and Shenseea.

The album was also nominated for Afrobeats Album of the Year at the 2026 Headies.

Davido was not the only Nigerian artiste to take home an award at the ceremony. Tems won Best Female West Africa, while Ruger took home Best Male West Africa.

The official AFRIMMA results also named Fally Ipupa Artist of the Year, while BNXN and Sarz won Song of the Year.

Director Pink also won Best Video Director, DJ Tunez took home the award for Best DJ Africa and Phyno won the Best Male Act category.

Timaya was also recognized with the Timeless Impact Award.
