NFF President Praises Officials For Credible Performance On NPFL Match Day 1

January 17, (THEWILL) – In a statement released over the weekend, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, praised the group of officiating officials, who took charge of Match Day 1 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The NFF President commended their efforts and called for them to maintain the level of credibility displayed in their output throughout the season.

The opening day of the NPFL saw four away wins and four draws, with only two home teams earning maximum points. Champions Rivers United secured a 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars in Port Harcourt, while Remo Stars defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in Ikenne.

Gusau also emphasised the commitment of the current NFF administration to rebranding the domestic game and promoting growth and sustainability within the football economy for the benefit of all stakeholders and indirect income earners.

He urged referees to continue to put forth their best efforts to improve the league and ensure a positive change for the future.
