Tyler Perry has ruled out marriage, saying divorce is the part of marriage that concerns him most.

The filmmaker shared his thoughts during an appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, where he gave a quick “Nope” when asked if he would ever get married.

His comments come just days after the release of ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’, the latest film in his popular marriage-themed franchise.
September 15, (THEWILL) – Tyler Perry has made it clear that marriage is not in his plans.
The filmmaker was asked if he would ever get married during an appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ on Monday, September 14.
When host Jennifer Hudson asked the question, Perry gave a simple answer: “Nope.”
He went on to explain that it is not marriage itself that concerns him, but what can happen when a marriage ends.
“It’s not the marriage that bothers me, it’s the divorce,” Perry said. “Everybody that I know that did well and went broke, it was because of a divorce. So I’m good just being free.”
The comment comes from a filmmaker who has spent much of his career telling stories about love, marriage, family and complicated relationships.
Perry has explored these themes in films including ‘Why Did I Get Married?’, ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’, ‘Diary of a Mad Black Woman’ and ‘Acrimony’.
His latest film, ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’, continues that focus.

Beyond filmmaking, Perry has built a major entertainment business, including Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. Forbes currently estimates his net worth at $1.4 billion.
Perry was previously in a long-term relationship with model and filmmaker Gelila Bekele.
The pair were together for about 11 years before ending their relationship in 2020. They continue to co-parent their son, Aman.
Perry also received a birthday surprise from Hudson during the same appearance, adding a lighter moment to the conversation.
At 57, the filmmaker says he has no plans to marry and is comfortable with his decision to remain single.
