The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has rattled the Federal Government over what it described as a worsening survival crisis in the country, demanding an immediate reduction in petrol prices, a nationwide wage award and the commencement of negotiations for a new national minimum wage.

NLC President, Joe Ajaero, stated this in a statement issued on Sunday, amid growing concerns over the proposed concession and the future management of the prestigious secondary school.

The acting General Secretary of the NLC, Benson Upah, said the latest increase would further worsen the economic pressure facing workers and low-income households already struggling with high transportation, food and living costs.

NLC President, Joe Ajaero, disclosed the development to members of the Congress’ National Executive Council (NEC) during its meeting in Enugu, Enugu State, following a letter from the late labour leader’s family. Details surrounding his death remained sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
