September 14, (THEWILL) – Natasha Osawaru has sparked reactions online after making a bold presidential promise to her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, during his 92nd birthday celebration.
The Edo State lawmaker made the declaration on Sunday, September 13, while speaking at the birthday event held in honour of Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom.
In a video from the celebration, Natasha addressed her grandfather warmly, describing how much their relationship means to her. She told him that he had grown “sweeter and better” with age before making her presidential declaration.
“I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you go. And I’ll make you very, very proud, and I promise to do better and better”, she said.
Natasha also prayed for God’s protection over Igbinedion and asked that he live to the age of 150, keeping the moment focused on her affection for her grandfather.
Natasha is one of Igbinedion’s grandchildren and has often spoken publicly about their close relationship. Ahead of his birthday, she described the billionaire patriarch as her “partner in crime” in a tribute to him.
The birthday declaration comes as Natasha continues to build her profile in Edo politics. She represents Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly and currently serves as the Minority Leader, having previously served as Deputy Majority Leader.
Outside politics, Natasha is also known as the wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba. The couple welcomed their first child together in November 2025.
