December 22, (THEWILL) – The Supreme Court has upheld the victory of Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 gubernatorial election in Enugu State.
A five-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, dismissed the joint appeal filed by the Labour Party (LP) and its candidate, Jonathan Edeoga.
Upholding the judgement of the lower court and the Enugu Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which earlier affirmed the victory of Mbah, the apex court held that the appellants failed to prove their case.
It consequently dismissed the appeal against the election of Governor Peter Mbah.
