Justice Amina Aliyu Mohammed gave the order on Thursday while delivering judgment in a suit instituted by a PDP governorship aspirant, Usman Aliyu Garry, who challenged the process through which Pantami emerged as the party’s candidate.

Family sources disclosed his death on Saturday, although details surrounding his death were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.

Adebutu made the declaration on Wednesday at the official flag-off of his campaign and that of the party’s House of Assembly candidates at the Ake Pavilion, Abeokuta.

The two petitions were displayed on the notice board of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal Secretariat in Osogbo on Monday, formally setting the legal machinery in motion.

His family formally announced his passing in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the Orbih family. The family said the announcement was made “with profound sadness and a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of the Almighty God.”
