August 13, (THEWILL) — Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido briefly halted his London concert on Tuesday, August 11, to address a fan over what he described as disrespect towards a member of his staff.

The incident happened during his “Oriadé Royal Night” concert at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London.

Davido, who was performing as the crowd cheered, stopped the music and pointed towards the audience member before issuing a firm warning.

“You’re not going to come to my show and disrespect my staff like that. These people have been working here and you can see them holding cameras,” he said.

He then warned the fan that he would leave the stage if the behaviour continued.

“If I see you here one more time, I’m going to walk off the stage.”

The singer’s reaction appeared to be linked to an incident involving members of his team and fans near an area that was off limits to the audience.

However, details of exactly what happened between the fan and the crew have not been independently confirmed.

Video of the moment has since circulated widely on social media, with many viewers supporting Davido for defending his staff.

Others questioned whether stopping a concert over the incident was too strong a response.

The performance eventually continued after the brief interruption.

The London show comes as the singer continues his international run following the release of his latest album, “Oriadé.” He is also scheduled to headline the “Davido & Friends” concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on Friday, August 14.
