August 27, (THEWILL) — Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has reached another major career milestone after her latest album, ‘Starrgirl’, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
It marks Ayra Starr’s first appearance on the Billboard World Albums chart.
The album appeared on the chart for the week of August 29, 2026, less than two weeks after its release. The achievement adds to Ayra Starr’s growing list of international milestones since she broke into the global music scene.
‘Starrgirl’ entered the chart behind three K-pop projects. Stray Kids’ ‘This & That’ took the top spot, while CORTIS’ ‘GREEN GREEN’ ranked second and ATEEZ’s ‘Golden Hour: Part.5’ came third. Tyla’s ‘APOP*’ occupied the fifth position.
The Billboard World Albums chart ranks the best-performing world music albums in the United States each week based on sales.
Released on August 14 through Mavin Records and Republic Records, ‘Starrgirl’ is Ayra Starr’s third studio album. It follows her debut album, ‘19 & Dangerous’, released in 2021, and her second album, ‘The Year I Turned 21’, which arrived in 2024.
The 16-track project features a mix of Nigerian and international artists, including Wizkid, Rema, ZAYN, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
The album has also performed well outside the United States. It reached No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart, No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart and No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart.
