August 14, (THEWILL) — Ayra Starr has released her third studio album, “Starrgirl”.
The 16-track project arrived on Friday, August 14, 2026, following her previous albums, “19 & Dangerous” and “The Year I Turned 21”.
The album expands Starr’s sound across Afropop, R&B, dance and global pop.
It features several major artists, including Wizkid on “Gimme Dat” and Rema on “Who’s Dat Girl”.
British singer ZAYN appears on “Heaven Baby”, while Leon Thomas features on “Pressure”. KWN appears on “Amazing”, Theodora on “Ms Paper”, and Danny Ocean joins the “Hot Body” remix.
“Heaven Baby” is one of the album’s most anticipated collaborations, bringing Starr together with the former One Direction member for a pop-leaning duet.
The album follows the release of “Gimme Dat” in 2025, with “Hot Body”, “Who’s Dat Girl”, “Where Do We Go” and “Tornado” released ahead of the full project.
“Gimme Dat” has also become an important milestone in Starr’s career. The Wizkid collaboration earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
“Starrgirl” follows the success of “The Year I Turned 21”, which became the first album by a Nigerian female artist to debut on the Billboard 200.
The new album combines dance-focused records with more personal songs such as “Misunderstood” and “Letter to God”, giving the project both commercial and reflective moments.
With “Starrgirl”, Starr continues to build her identity beyond Afropop while strengthening her position as one of Nigeria’s leading global music acts.
