September 07, (THEWILL) — Rapper and producer 50 Cent is celebrating an Emmy win for “Sean Combs: The Reckoning”, the Netflix documentary series about Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The four-part series won Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program at the 78th Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
The award was presented to the editing team behind the episode “Blink Again”. The Television Academy credited supervising editors Charles Divak and Evan Wise, lead editor Jack Gravina, and editors Benji Kast, Adam Goldstein, Jonathan Miller and Jeremy Siefer.
“Sean Combs: The Reckoning” received three Emmy nominations. In addition to the editing category, it was nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series and Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, served as an executive producer on the project alongside director Alexandria Stapleton and other members of the production team.
The series, which premiered on Netflix in December 2025, examines Combs’ rise in the music industry, his Bad Boy Entertainment empire and the allegations that later surrounded him. It also features footage recorded shortly before Combs’ September 2024 arrest.
Stapleton previously said the filmmakers legally obtained the footage and secured the rights to use it in the documentary.

The project attracted significant attention because of 50 Cent’s long-running feud with Combs. The rapper has publicly criticised the music mogul for years and continued to speak about the documentary following its release.
After the Emmy win, 50 Cent celebrated on Instagram and appeared to respond to people who had questioned the project.
“I won an Emmy, still think I’m taking a L, or you changed your mind”, he wrote, adding, “GLG GreenLightGang we don’t miss.”
The documentary features accounts from former employees, artists, associates and others who have made allegations against Combs. His representatives have criticised the series, describing it as one-sided and disputing its portrayal of the music executive.
The Emmy win gives “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” recognition from the Television Academy while adding another achievement to 50 Cent’s growing career as a television and film producer.
