February 02, (THEWILL) – Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi has been appointed as the Group Vice President, Marketing of Wakanow.
The former OAP, actor, producer and mother of one, announced her appointment on her Instagram page as gushed over her new role.
She revealed she got an offer a year ago but fled. She initially turned it down after going through the rigorous process of sending her resume, interviews and all because she panicked.
She noted that because she was scared, she made up a lot of excuses as to why she couldn’t take the job but this year, she’s done running and making excuses and is excited about the new challenge.
“I am excited about this new chapter and I am eager to use my talents and education in a new way.
“Three words to describe how I feel now, excited, terrified, energised.
“I’m excited about this new role. Terrified of how huge this new assignment is. Energised because I have a new assignment that I have to tackle.
“When I got my first job a year ago, I fled. The offer was in my email and I panicked. I turned it down after being interviewed, sending my resume and all that.
“I felt so so bad afterwards. I kept making excuses; I don’t have the time, my baby is barely one, she needs me.
“That’s what I do when I am scared. This year, I’m ready, no running, no excuses.
“OAP, fashion entrepreneur, executive producer and now VP in marketing.
“Why not, you can be many things and you can be everything you want to be. I am excited about this new challenge and I am grateful to Wakanow for the warm welcome.
“I am so thankful to all my friends and family for their support. Let’s make history,” she wrote.
