It is becoming a fashion, albeit a depravity, among Nigerian Politicians during electioneering to make divisive statements and then claim they were misquoted or that rivals twisted their words to score cheap political points.

A former Labour Party chieftain and spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign, Kenneth Okonkwo, has delivered one of the strongest warnings yet over the consequences of a divided opposition in the 2027 presidential election.
