April 9, (THEWILL) – The Super Falcons have booked their place in the 2024 Paris Olympics after a goalless draw with South Africa in the second leg of their qualifiers. The record African champions held on to their one-goal advantage from the first leg, ensuring their return to the Olympic stage for the first time since the 2008 Beijing Games.
Coach Randy Waldrum opted to field the same starting lineup that featured in the first leg, but he adjusted the formation to a more defensive setup. This tactical change proved effective as the Super Falcons remained resolute in their defensive efforts, denying the home side any clear-cut opportunities to level the aggregate score.
