November 12, (THEWILL) – Mohamed Salah made more history for Liverpool on Sunday, as his brace against Brentford saw him become the first Reds player to score in six consecutive home Premier League games. The Egyptian netted twice as Jurgen Klopp’s side cruised past the Bees 3-0 at Anfield.
The goals take Salah to 10 for the season, with only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland ahead of him in the scoring charts. Still, it is the 30-year-old’s astonishing consistency at home that continues to drive Liverpool’s title challenge.
By finding the net again versus Brentford, Salah achieved a feat no other Liverpool player has managed before. He has now scored or assisted in each of his last 15 Anfield appearances in the English Premier League.
Only Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Newcastle icon Alan Shearer previously achieved such a run in the competition. Salah’s double also took him past 200 goals in English football since arriving at Liverpool from Roma in 2017.
The Egyptian showed his usual composure to open the scoring just before half-time, finishing off a slick move involving Darwin Nunez. A controversial second followed after the break to put the result beyond doubt.
Diogo Jota added a late third as Liverpool maintained their 100% home record. Jürgen Klopp will hope Salah’s historic run continues as the Reds host defending champions and League leaders Manchester City after the international break.
