October 03, (THEWILL) – Barcelona have dominated LaLiga’s September awards, with Raphinha retaining the Player of the Month prize, Hansi Flick taking the Coach of the Month award and João Cancelo winning Goal of the Month.
Raphinha’s latest recognition comes after another outstanding month in front of goal, with the Barcelona captain scoring seven times and providing two assists across the club’s four league matches in September. His performances have earned him the Player of the Month award for the second consecutive month.
Flick was recognised after guiding Barcelona to four victories from four league matches during September, while Cancelo’s spectacular strike against Racing Santander was voted the league’s Goal of the Month.
Raphinha retains LaLiga award
Raphinha has continued his extraordinary start to the 2026/27 season by becoming the September recipient of the LaLiga Player of the Month award.
The Brazilian scored against Valencia before producing consecutive hat-tricks against Racing Santander and Sevilla, finishing September with seven goals and two assists from four league appearances.
His performances have also pushed him to the top of the LaLiga scoring charts. Raphinha currently has 12 league goals and three assists, while Barcelona remain unbeaten at the top of the standings.
The award is the third LaLiga Player of the Month honour of his career. He previously won the prize in August 2024 before claiming it again in August 2026.
Raphinha beat Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé, Atletico Madrid’s Jonathan David, Rayo Vallecano’s Sergio Camello and Elche forward Fer Niño in the final vote.
The back-to-back awards also underline the impact of Flick’s decision to deploy Raphinha in a more central attacking role.
The Brazilian winger has been converted into a centre-forward under the German coach and has responded with a prolific run of form.
Flick earns Coach of the Month

Raphinha’s individual brilliance has been matched by Barcelona’s results under Flick, with the German manager taking the September Coach of the Month award.
Barcelona won all four of their LaLiga matches during the month, beginning with a 5-0 victory over Valencia at Mestalla.
They followed that with a 4-2 away win against Levante before producing a 7-2 victory over Racing Santander at the Spotify Camp Nou. Barcelona then completed the month with a 3-1 win away to Sevilla.
The perfect run kept Barcelona at the top of the table and earned Flick the award ahead of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini.
Barcelona scored 19 goals across their four league matches in September, averaging 4.75 goals per game.
The award is Flick’s first Coach of the Month honour of the 2026/27 campaign, although he has already won the league’s overall Coach of the Year award in each of the previous two seasons.

Cancelo completes Barcelona’s sweep

João Cancelo added another individual honour to Barcelona’s September haul after his strike against Racing Santander was named LaLiga’s Goal of the Month.
The Portuguese defender opened the scoring in Barcelona’s 7-2 victory over Racing at the Spotify Camp Nou with a powerful curling effort from outside the box that struck the crossbar before finding the net.
The goal came in the eighth minute of the match and marked Cancelo’s first start of the season. He was substituted in the 78th minute to an ovation from the Camp Nou crowd.
It is the second time Cancelo has won LaLiga’s Goal of the Month award. He previously claimed the prize in September 2023 during his earlier spell with Barcelona.
Barcelona’s September dominance
The three awards underline the scale of Barcelona’s dominance during September.
Raphinha provided the goals, Flick guided the team to a perfect league record, while Cancelo supplied one of the month’s standout individual moments.
Barcelona had four nominees across the September awards, with Raphinha, Flick, Cancelo and Pau Cubarsí all shortlisted in different categories.
The club’s strong representation in the awards reflects a team that has combined individual brilliance with consistent results at the start of the new campaign.
Flick’s side have won every LaLiga match they have played so far, while their September run strengthened their position at the top of the table.
For Raphinha, however, the latest award further establishes him as one of the defining players of Barcelona’s early-season campaign.
His 12 league goals have put him five goals clear of Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé and Sergio Camello, who are all on seven.
Barcelona set for another test
Barcelona’s perfect September has given Flick and his players significant momentum, but the season will now enter another demanding phase.
The club will have to maintain its form across a busy schedule as it continues its LaLiga campaign alongside its European commitments.
For now, though, Barcelona have made a statement through both their results and individual performances.
Raphinha has collected his second consecutive Player of the Month award, Flick has been recognised as the league’s best coach for September and Cancelo has taken the Goal of the Month prize.
With the three honours going to members of the same squad, Barcelona’s September dominance has extended beyond the league table and into LaLiga’s individual awards.
