September 19, (THEWILL) – Raphinha continued his extraordinary start to the 2026/27 campaign by scoring another hat-trick as Barcelona came from behind to beat Sevilla 3-1 on Saturday.
The victory extended Barcelona’s perfect La Liga record to seven wins from seven matches, keeping Hansi Flick’s side at the top of the table as their attacking stars continue to produce at an extraordinary rate.
Sevilla made the better start and stunned the visitors when Youssouf Fofana opened the scoring in the 18th minute.
Barcelona, however, needed only a few minutes to respond.
Raphinha levelled the contest in the 22nd minute before taking control of the match after the break.
The Brazilian restored Barcelona’s lead in the 52nd minute, with Lamine Yamal providing the assist, before completing his hat-trick in the 69th minute after combining with the teenage winger once again.
The treble was Raphinha’s second in just four days, having also scored three times during Barcelona’s 7-2 victory over Racing Santander earlier in the week.
His latest performance takes his La Liga tally to 12 goals in seven games, underlining the dramatic impact he has made after being deployed in a more central attacking role by Flick.

Raphinha’s partnership with Yamal has become one of the defining features of Barcelona’s explosive start to the season.
Yamal played a decisive role against Sevilla, setting up two of Raphinha’s three goals as Barcelona recovered from their early setback.

The Brazilian currently has a contract running until 2028, but sporting director Deco confirmed on Saturday that negotiations over an extension through 2030 are well advanced.
Deco told Barcelona’s general assembly that the renewal had been largely agreed and that remaining administrative matters would be completed soon. Reports from AFP and Mundo Deportivo also indicate that the club expects the extension to take Raphinha through to 2030.
Raphinha himself has already made his position clear.
Speaking to RAC1 before Saturday’s match, the Barcelona captain said he would be happy to extend his contract and expressed his desire to finish his career at the club.
For now, however, his performances are doing the talking.
