August 27, (THEWILL) — Nigerian comedian and content creator, Carter Efe, has claimed that social media pressure played a role in Peller and Jarvis’ decision to get married.
Carter made the comments during an interview with Madam Joyce, while discussing relationships involving content creators and the influence of online engagement on their personal lives.
The comedian described Peller and Jarvis’ marriage as “pure content” and suggested that pressure from their online audience influenced their decision to tie the knot.
“The internet is crazy. It’s pressure that made them marry. If you don’t understand the internet, it will fool you, then you will start regretting like four or five years later that these people don’t really care about you”, Carter said.
He further claimed that the couple could eventually regret allowing online pressure to influence their relationship.
Carter also addressed his absence from the couple’s wedding, claiming that Peller and Jarvis did not invite him because they viewed him negatively.
“You go see am very soon, just calm. Na why them no invite me come their marriage, them dey see me as witch, so them no invite me”, he said.
Peller and Jarvis, who built their relationship and online careers together through TikTok, held their traditional marriage ceremony on August 1 and their white wedding in Lagos on August 8.

Speaking about relationships involving content creators, Carter said social media can have a strong influence on couples. He added that he would not date a content creator because of the pressure that comes with it.
“I know how women who love the content space behave. IG comments and engagement control women when they’re in a relationship”, he said.
He added that constant reactions from followers can pressure couples into making decisions based on what their audience expects.
“To be honest, na pressure dey make some people dey go do wetin them suppose no do because of the comments wey them dey see online”, Carter said.
The comedian also reflected on his own experience in a relationship where his personal life became closely connected to his content.
Carter recalled a period when he struggled to create content without his partner because followers had become accustomed to seeing them together.
“There was a time I could not do content if I didn’t see my woman. I can’t shoot content if I don’t see her”, he said.
He said the situation became emotionally draining, particularly when they argued before filming.
“Do you know how many times I will cry? We go fight, fight before we start content, before we even shoot, before we face camera”, he recalled.
According to Carter, the experience eventually made him realise that he could no longer allow online expectations to dictate his personal life.
“I have to use my own brain. I said no. It cannot continue like this”, he narrated.
He warned that people who allow the internet to influence their personal decisions could eventually regret those choices.

Peller responds
Peller has since responded to Carter’s comments, accusing him of repeatedly interfering in his relationship with Jarvis.
“Carterefe, I respect you a lot. If not, I would have ended your career a long time ago. I’ll be on my own, you’ll be coming for me and my wife”, Peller warned.
Peller also accused Carter of frequently advising him to leave Jarvis and claimed that the comedian was overly competitive.
He further made personal allegations about Carter’s former relationship with Elma and criticised him over his responsibilities as a father.
Peller ended his response with a warning to Carter.
“Competition will kill you”, he said.
The exchange adds to the ongoing tension between the two content creators, who have publicly clashed over their careers, relationships and activities online.
