September 17, (THEWILL) – At the National Association of Physical and Health Education, Sports and Dance (NAPHER.SD) congress, which was held at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, on Friday, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, was elected as the first vice president of the body.
Along with the esteemed sports administrator, the following individuals were also elected; Professor B. F. Adeyanju (President), Professor Joshua Umelfekwem (Second Vice President), Mr Franz Atare (Secretary General), Mr Sylvester Ikuejamuoye (Assistant Secretary General), Dr Isyaku Abdullahi (Financial Secretary), Mrs Joy Maiyaki (Treasurer), Mr Ke (Auditor).
In addition to holding the traditional titles of Danmasani Wajeke of Wammako district in Sokoto State and Dan-Buran of Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State, Sanusi, a former lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University, served as president of the National Colleges of Education Games for several terms.
Sanusi, a certified coach, was in charge of accommodations and logistics for the 8th All-Africa Games, which Nigeria hosted in 2003, before serving as the Nigeria Football Federation’s Director of Competitions.
In March 2015, he was appointed as the NFF’s General Secretary.
