New Kano CP Assumes Office, Vows to Combat Crime

June 24, (THEWILL) – The new Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Salman Dogo Garba, on Monday, assumed duty with a promise to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the state.

Dogo solicited the support and cooperation of officers and men of the Command, as well as the general public to achieve the objective.

He made the remark at a farewell ceremony organised in honour of his predecessor, Mohammad Hussein Gumel, who was recently promoted to the rank of AIG.

In his address, AIG Gumel thanked the officers and men of the Command for their support during his tenure and urged them to extend the same gesture to the new Commissioner.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of awards to police officers and men as well as philanthropists for their contributions to the promotion of peace in the state.

The Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State chapter, presented an award of excellence to AIG Gumel for his outstanding performance during his tenure.
