LG Polls: Kano APC Vows To Defend Votes

September 26, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has vowed to defend its votes in the forthcoming Local Government Elections scheduled for October 26 in the state.

The chairman of the party, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, made the remark in an interview with newsmen in Kano on Thursday.

Abbas said that the party would soon organise its primary elections to pave way for the emergence of candidates for the elections across the 44 local government areas in the state.

“We are doing everything humanly possible to ensure our teeming supporters participate in the elections

“The APC is mobilising supporters to participate in the election, with a focus on protecting votes and ensuring a peaceful process”, he said.

Abbas appealed to the State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) to provide an enabling environment for free, fair, and credible elections.

“We demand equal opportunities from the commission for all contestants to participate without political violence and thuggery.

“We also demand transparent electoral process for the peaceful atmosphere of all electoral process”, he said.

The chairman said the party had since embarked on a house-to-house sensitisation of its teeming supporters to come out and participate in the October polls.
