July 17, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State in the March 2023 governorship election, Hon. David Ombugadu, has said that he won the Nasarawa State governorship election based on polling unit results.
Ombugadu said this as he continues to tender documents through INEC that show 99.57% upload of all the unit results on IREV, which still has him as the winner of the polls.
The Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital, has admitted IREV polling units results for Gayam, Ciroma and Ashigie Wards of Nasarawa State.
The PDP and its gubernatorial candidate, David Ombugadu, while challenging the return of Sule Audu as the Governor of Nasarawa State, subpoenaed the Director of INEC ICT, who tendered the Polling Units results of these wards to show that election took place in the said polling units.
The Tribunal admitted the documents and marked same accordingly.
The witness under cross-examination by the respondents’ counsel admitted that the governorship election in Nasarawa State was successful, fair and credible based on the results uploaded on IREV, which is about 99.67 per cent.
The tribunal, thereafter, adjourned the matter to 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 July 2023 for continuation of hearing.
