August 31, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress and producer Oyebade Adebimpe, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has opened up about a painful period in her life when she was trying to conceive.
The actress shared the reflection on Instagram after attending the first birthday celebration of Rakeem, the son of Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
Rakeem turned one on August 24, while his cowboy-themed birthday party was held at The Lekki Coliseum in Lagos on August 29.
The celebration brought together several stars from the entertainment industry, including Toke Makinwa, Mercy Aigbe and Veekee James.
The celebration reminded Mo Bimpe of a difficult chapter in her life, when she was left out of baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday parties because she did not have a child.
“Baby Rakeem’s birthday party reminded me of a difficult season. There was a time I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she wrote.
Mo Bimpe said some of those who excluded her were people she personally knew, worked with, and cared about.
She later discovered that her lack of children was the reason she was left out.
She said the experience was particularly painful because she loved children and simply wanted to share in the happiness of others.
“A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration,” she wrote.
The actress urged people to show more understanding towards women who are trying to conceive, noting that the process can already come with pressure, questions and disappointment.

She also pointed out that people may not always know what someone is going through behind a smile.
“You never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile,” she said, urging people not to make the journey harder by excluding others.
Her comments come weeks after her husband, actor Lateef Adedimeji, also reflected on the difficult period they experienced while waiting to become parents.
Earlier in August, Lateef spoke about the mockery, rumours and stigma the couple faced during their five-year wait, offering a rare glimpse into the challenges they experienced privately.
The couple welcomed their triplet boys in May 2026 and later celebrated their arrival with a grand naming and thanksgiving ceremony in Lagos on August 12.
Now a mother of triplets, Mo Bimpe used her experience to encourage other women who are still waiting to become mothers.
She reminded them that her own story changed after years of waiting and urged them not to give up hope.
“There was a time I had no child. Today, I am a mother of triplets,” she wrote.
Mo Bimpe encouraged women to keep believing and hoping despite the difficulties that may come with the journey, adding that their stories can still change in ways they may not expect.
