August 10, (THEWILL) — The Mountain Top Chorale of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has emerged as a champion at the 14th World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, the choir won the gold medal in the Spiritual Category with 87.38 points and was also named Champion of the World Choir Games in the Champions Competition.
The World Choir Games, organized by Interkultur, is one of the world’s largest international choral competitions.
The 2026 edition is being held in Helsingborg from August 6 to 16, bringing together choirs from more than 40 countries to compete, perform, and celebrate choral music.
MFM General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya, celebrated the achievement in a post on X, describing it as a major feat that had brought honour and pride to Nigeria and the MFM family.
“We celebrate an outstanding achievement at the 14th World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden 2026, where Mountain Top Chorale, conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, emerged as gold medal winner in the Spiritual Category, with an impressive 87.38 points and champion of the World Choir Games in the Champions Competition,” Olukoya wrote.
Olukoya described the victory as more than a musical achievement, saying it demonstrated discipline, excellence, dedication, teamwork and the use of talent to glorify God.

“From Nigeria to the world, Mountain Top Chorale has raised the banner high!” he wrote, while congratulating the choristers, conductor, leadership and everyone whose commitment contributed to the achievement.
The latest victory builds on Mountain Top Chorale’s strong record at the international competition.
At the 2024 World Choir Games in Auckland, New Zealand, the choir won two gold medals, including one in the Spiritual Category, where it scored 83.38 points.
Its latest score of 87.38 points represents an improvement on its 2024 performance and further strengthens the choir’s reputation on the international choral stage.
The latest achievement also adds to Nigeria’s presence at the global competition, as Mountain Top Chorale continues to represent the country on the international choral music scene.
