June 22, (THEWILL) – With the conclusion of a deal with Liverpool worth up to €41 million (£35.2 million), Bayern Munich has finalised the transfer of Senegal striker, Sadio Mane.
After Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid last month, and at the conclusion of a season in which he scored 23 goals, Mane made hints that he wanted to leave the club.
The 30-year-old Senegalese was permitted to leave Anfield after six productive years and a 12-month period of his contract remaining, especially with the arrival of striker, Darwin Nunez, in a rumoured £64 million (€75 million) move from Benfica last week.
With his help, Liverpool won their first Premier League championship in 2020, advanced to three Champions League finals, won one of them, and won the EFL Cup and FA Cup in the 2021/2022 campaign.
The deal Mane signed with the Bundesliga champions is for three years. According to Stats Perform, Bayern will give Liverpool a guaranteed sum of €32 million (£27.5 million) plus €6 million (£5.2 million) depending on appearances, with an additional €3 million (£2.5 million) contingent on the Bavarian club and Mane reaching performance-related goals.
Mane joined Jurgen Klopp’s team from Southampton in 2016, and he scored 90 goals in 196 Premier League outings for Liverpool.
