The publication reported that the upcoming 2026–27 season is expected to be the show’s last, with sources claiming that Kimmel’s contract will not be extended beyond the season. If confirmed, the program would end after 24 years on ABC.
However, ABC has denied the report. A spokesperson for ABC Entertainment told Page Six that the information was “inaccurate” and that reports about the show’s future are “purely speculative.”
Kimmel has hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” since 2003, making him one of the longest-serving late-night hosts on American network television. ABC’s current schedule shows the program continuing to air on weeknights.
The reported uncertainty comes as Kimmel continues to work under a year-to-year arrangement with ABC. He is known for signing short-term contracts, which gives him more flexibility than many other major network late-night hosts.
The report also comes during a period of major changes in American late-night television. CBS ended “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in May 2026, while other programs have faced changes to their budgets and production.
