BEVERLY HILLS, September 04, (THEWILL) – Steve Mandanda, the French goalkeeper, is the latest player to test positive for the dreaded coronavirus in France and has been withdrawn from the national soccer team.
THEWILL had earlier reported that Manchester United midfielder and France star, Paul Pogba, also tested positive for coronavirus.
Mandanda tested positive twice after the whole team was tested Wednesday, the French FA said
“Steve Mandanda therefore will not be able to take part in the game in Sweden and will leave the squad on Friday morning,” the French Football Federation said in a statement late on Thursday.
France will lock horns with Sweden in the Nations League on Saturday and later face Croatia at home on Tuesday.
