Eriksen Wants To Remain In London, Turns Down Man Utd Offer

June 18, (THEWILL) – Former Inter Milan midfielder, Christian Eriksen, has reportedly made up his mind against joining Manchester United this summer.

After a stellar season with Brentford in 2020/2021, Eriksen’s career took a turn for the better, and he was linked with a move to United. But, the Dane is set to reject such a move in order to stay in London, which potentially paves the way for a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Eriksen recently became a key target for incoming Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, who wants to improve his midfield options this summer and knows the difference the Dane can bring especially after the Red Devils announced the departure of 11 first-team players earlier this month, including midfielders Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, and Nemanja Matic.

United are also in talks with Barcelona about a trade for midfielder Frenkie de Jong, but with so many players leaving Old Trafford this month, Ten Hag might bring two midfielders to the Nou Camp.

Eriksen’s contract with Brentford expires on June 30th, and it was rumoured a few days ago that he could be headed to Old Trafford as United had offered him a contract offer.
