BEVERLY HILLS, October 25, (THEWILL) – American singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys, has endorsed the ongoing #EndSARS protest against police brutality and harassment in Nigeria and urged protesters to remain steadfast until their demands are met.
The endorsement of the musician is coming days after state forces shot at defiant unarmed protesters in Lekki, Lagos State.
She wrote: “My love goes out to #Nigeria #America and everywhere in the world that is fighting to change the systems designed to oppress! #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality #BlackLivesMatter. Don’t give up Stay hopeful.”
Keys took to her Twitter handle urging Nigerian youths to be steadfast and push harder in the #EndSARS movement until the government restructures the police force.
The Nigerian government had acceded to the five demands of the protesters.

The protests however took a downturn after hoodlums hijacked it and started looting both public, private businesses as well as burning down police stations and state properties in anger.
