SAN FRANCISCO, June 04, (THEWILL) – Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa, has been sentenced to six months in jail for tax offences.
The former Chelsea striker, will pay a £32,000 fine to avoid going to jail after pleading guilty.
The Spanish tax agency stated that Costa defrauded them of taxes as the agency also charged him with a separate financial offence in 2013 financial year.

An Atletico spokesperson who spoke to the media on Wednesday said: “Costa reached an agreement a few months ago with the prosecutor and has already paid the corresponding fine SAN FRANCISCO, June 04, (THEWILL) -plus interest and the request for a prison sentence was withdrawn.
“This week it is expected that agreement will be ratified in court, as is mandatory.”
