August 19, (THEWILL) — Davido and Wande Coal have continued their public exchange over their unreleased collaboration on “Come My Way,” with both artistes offering fresh responses after their initial remarks.
Davido added to the dispute by sharing a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation on X. The screenshot appears to show a mutual contact asking him for his phone number on Wande Coal’s behalf.
According to Davido, the request was made about two weeks before their recent fallout. He claimed he instructed his team not to give Wande Coal his number.
The singer appeared to use the screenshot to support his earlier claim that Wande Coal had been trying to reach him before the disagreement became public.
Wande Coal responded by questioning why Davido had not shared the full conversation.
“I wonder why you no post the full chat, asked for your number 2 weeks ago, how??? WHO YOU EPP?” he wrote.
He also dismissed Davido’s claim that he had been seeking his attention, saying he had “passed the baton” to a new generation of artistes.
“I passed the baton to the next generation of talented artists not you talentless fool, keep capping on National TV,” Wande added.
The latest exchange follows an earlier disagreement over “Come My Way,” which began after Davido discussed the unreleased collaboration during an appearance on The Uncut Podcast.
Davido said he recorded his verse for what he understood to be the original version of the song but did not want his contribution held back for a later remix.

Wande Coal disputed that account, saying the song already had a release plan and date before Davido recorded his verse.
The disagreement later became personal, with the two artistes trading insults online before Davido addressed the matter again during an interview with News Central.
The latest posts have also drawn reactions from social media users, with some defending either artiste while others called for an end to the public exchange.

Another user, @NoRoom4Drama0, commented: “Davido always in the news – From his album release to Shows in the UK to the Osun election to Wande Coal saga. Man is everywhere.”
Others urged both artistes to move past the disagreement.
@dijonmega wrote: “Sad that grown folks will come out and yap rubbish. Y’all are super talented fact be told. Stop this nonsense @WANDECOAL @davido both amazing artists.”
