The Assembly, now led by Speaker Yekini Idaiye, maintained that Agbebaku did not voluntarily relinquish his position but was removed through an impeachment process initiated and supported by members of the House.

Sowore, who spoke during a session at the ongoing Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, accused Nigerian politicians of misleading citizens about the benefits of subsidy removal and challenged them to account for the use of resources saved from the policy.
