Benue Killings: Reps Summon President Buhari, Pass Vote Of No Confidence On Service Chiefs

BEVERLY HILLS April 25, (THEWILL) – The House of Representatives has voted to summon President Muhammadu Buhari to make an appearance before them and explain his efforts towards quelling the growing spate of killings in Benue state by Fulani herdsmen.

This was sequel to a motion by Hon. Mark Gbillah, on the recent attack on Naka Community of Benue State and the inability of the security agencies to deal with incessant killings in Benue State.

Lawmakers who made their voices heard on the motion decried the rising cases of insecurity across the country, without considerable efforts by the government to keep the citizens safe from attacks.

To this end, the House made a resolution to shut down the National Assembly for three legislative days in solidarity with the people of Benue, Taraba and other states who have suffered attacks in recent times.

In addition, the House passed a vote of no confidence on all the service chiefs, calling for their immediate replacement.
