March 13, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich and Los Angeles FC are teaming up to create a joint venture aimed at developing young players for both teams internationally.
The new venture, named “Red&Gold Football,” will be based in Munich and is intended to help both clubs compete with the best teams in Europe. Bayern CEO, Oliver Kahn, said the partnership with LAFC will allow Bayern to remain competitive on the global stage as soccer continues to develop rapidly.
Kahn believes that the improvements in the quality of MLS will benefit Bayern, particularly given that the 2026 World Cup will be held largely in the United States.
For LAFC, the partnership represents a significant step forward in the club’s evolution. According to Co-president and General Manager, John Thorrington, the partnership with Bayern will enable the club to identify and develop young talent in Southern California and beyond, providing a clear pathway to first-team football.
The partnership between Bayern Munich and Los Angeles FC is seen as a potentially transformative development in the world of soccer. With plans to expand the initiative to include other clubs and development academies, the two teams are hoping to create a global development program that will help them remain competitive in the years to come.
