Sepember 10, (THEWILL) – Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has reached another major career milestone as his hit song “Lonely At The Top” surpasses 200 million streams on Spotify.

Released in 2023 as part of his second studio album, “Work of Art”, the song has become one of the biggest records of his career. The latest achievement makes it Asake’s second song to cross 200 million streams on the platform.

The milestone also makes “Lonely At The Top” the 37th Nigerian song to surpass 200 million Spotify streams. It adds to Asake’s wider streaming success, with his total Spotify catalogue now exceeding 4 billion streams.

“Lonely At The Top” enjoyed a strong run after its release. The song spent 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the TurnTable Official Top 100 and became one of the standout Nigerian songs of 2023. Its success further established Asake as one of the leading voices of the new generation of Afrobeats.

The streaming achievement comes amid another strong run in Asake’s international career, with the singer recently taking his “In God We Trust” world tour across North America.

The tour took Asake to several major cities across North America, where he performed songs from across his catalogue, including tracks from his latest album, “M$NEY”.
