August 26, (THEWILL) — An off-grid energy impact investment company, All On, has launched a 12-month Innovation Ecosystem Development Programme (AO-IEDP) designed to strengthen Nigeria’s clean energy sector by helping early-stage ventures transform ideas into tested, market-ready solutions.
The programme, funded by the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, targets promising clean energy startups and entrepreneurs within the All On Hub ecosystem, providing them with technical expertise, hands-on development support, mentorship, venture creation training and access to appropriate equipment and fabrication facilities.
Speaking at the launch in Akwa Ibom, All On Chief Executive Officer, Caroline Eboumbou, said the initiative was designed to address a critical gap in Nigeria’s clean energy ecosystem, particularly the lack of technical and infrastructural support available to ventures at the ideation and prototype development stages.
According to her, 10 participating entities would receive hands-on technical guidance and opportunities to develop, test and refine their solutions under practical conditions.
Eboumbou noted that although access to finance remained important for the growth of energy businesses, early-stage ventures required more than capital to convert promising ideas into viable commercial solutions.
She said, “Innovation does not happen simply because someone has a good idea. It takes the right environment, the right technical support, and the opportunity to build, test, and learn iteratively in the right conditions.”
She added that the programme would help strengthen the pipeline of clean energy businesses capable of contributing significantly to Nigeria’s energy future.
Also speaking, the Nigeria Country Director, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, Muhammad Wakil, said the programme would help entrepreneurs develop and validate their solutions before approaching investors for funding.
Wakil explained that investors would have greater confidence in ventures whose prototypes had undergone real-world testing rather than concepts that existed only on paper.

He said the programme was expected to position participating ventures to raise funding faster while creating a stronger pipeline of innovative businesses for Nigeria’s clean energy sector.
The initiative comes at a time when Nigeria continues to seek innovative solutions to expand access to reliable and cleaner energy, particularly through off-grid technologies and locally developed energy solutions.
By combining technical development, mentorship, infrastructure and venture-building support, the AO-IEDP is expected to help bridge the gap between innovation and commercialisation in Nigeria’s clean energy ecosystem.
