Akwa Ibom 2023: Gov. Emmanuel Predicts Better Times With Umo Eno

October 27, (THEWILL) – Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has expressed optimism that the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, if voted in 2023, would make the state a reference point in Nigeria.

Emmanuel who made the expression on Thursday, during the PDP campaigns Flag-off in Uyo Senatorial District, described Pastor Eno as a man of capacity, who is willing and reliable to lead the state.

“I can tell you that with Umo Eno, Akwa Ibom will be the flagship of the nation from 2023. He is a man of capacity, if you have not run a kiosk, you can never run a multinational. Umo Eno is will and he is reliable to lead the state.

“I wish Nigerians had given me the chance to build the country of our dreams”. Gov. Emmanuel expressed.

He appreciates the fact that the PDP has remained one big family in Akwa Ibom State and called on those still sitting on the fence to reunite into the big umbrella, as the outcome of the 2023 elections would not be different from what it was in 2015 and 2019.

Recounting their sad experiences in opposition parties, two prominent politicians from Uyo Senatorial District: Rt. Honourable Ekerete Udo, a two-term Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council and Hon. Idongesit, a former House of Assembly member representing Itu State Constituency, who returned to the PDP said that viewing power from the opposition had thought them that Governance is a marathon and not print race.

They however expressed regrets for leaving the big umbrella in the first instance saying they were in error and promised to ensure 100 per cent votes for PDP in their respective LGAs in 2023.

“Udom Emmanuel has done so much for the state and that is why PDP has so much to campaign about. The entrepreneurial capacity that I see in Pastor Umo Eno, drew me to PDP out of other options that I had when I left my former party.

“We have realized that we were in error. Out of 100 per cent, APC used to take 30 per cent but in 2023, that 30 per cent will be added to the PDP to make it 100 per cent”. The returnees pledged.

The high point of the colourful event held at the open field of Unity Park, Udo Udoma Avenue, was the presentation of the party’s flags to all the candidates of the party in Uyo Senatorial District, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, who is the Senatorial candidate of the party in the district.
