Accused Pleads Guilty To Lady Job Seeker’s Murder

July 26, (THEWILL) – Uduak Frank Akpan has, before High Court 6, sitting at Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, capital pleaded “guilty” to the murder of Iniubong Umoren, a 26-year-old job seeker.

The case was before Justice Bennett Illaumoh, whilst Mr. Uko Udom, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Akwa Ibom State, appeared for the state and Mr. Adula Sampson represented the Accused.

Uduak Akpan had in March 2021 invited Miss Iniubong Umoren, a job seeker, to his residence at Nung Ikono Ufok in Uruan Local Government Area for a job interview, where he raped, murdered and buried the body in a shallow grave in his father’s compound.

THEWILL reports that the deceased was a graduate of the University of Uyo, who was awaiting her call-up to serve in the National Youth Service Corps, when she met her untimely death.

The body of Iniubong was committed to mother earth on Friday, 14th May, 2021 at her hometown, Nung Ita Ikot Obio Enin Atai in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to 18th August 2021.
