SAN FRANCISCO, March 19, (THEWILL) – The last of Reagan Uformba’s colleagues in his faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) last Friday formally collapsed their structures into Alex Otti’s gubernatorial campaign at Osisioma on the outskirts of Aba, the South Eastern commercial hub of Abia state.
The politicians that defected are Chief Ihemere Fidelis (Chief of Staff/SSA to Reagan Uformba), Sir Engr. Enyi Aji (BOT Member), Chief John Agbara (State Chairman of the faction), Chief Lucky Erondu (Chairman of all LGA Chairmen), Dr. Johnson Gabriel Ndukwe (erstwhile Running Mate to Reagan Uformba), Chief Ibe Otisi (Major Stakeholder) accompanied by 17 LGA Chairmen and 184 Ward Chairmen.
Also defecting was the PDP Diaspora Secretary in South Korea, Mr Uche Nwosu.
Speaking at the event, APGA Zonal Chairman South East, Engr. Uche Okogbuo welcomed the defectors to APGA and Otti’s campaign.
“APGA is home to all and as we say in the party, any time a man wakes up is his own morning…welcome home,” Okogbuo said.
APGA Gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, who personally received the defectors, assured them of their security and comfort in APGA.
“APGA does not discriminate. …and it does not matter when you join or return otherwise I would not be the candidate today,” Otti said.
Recall that the Governor TA Orji led PDP administration has waged a “war of attrition” against the Otti Campaign denying it access to public facilities for campaigns and threatening to sack any public servant that supports and votes for Otti. The venue of the event, Peoples Club Osisioma is located a few poles away from Geometric Power station, an IPP project, whose funding was facilitated by Otti as then GMD of Diamond Bank PLC.
Dr. Alex Otti (OFR), the 1988 First Class Honours graduate and Best Graduating Student from University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is widely tipped to win the governorship election on April 11, 2015.
