Former Assembly Speaker Aniekan Uko pledges support mobilisation as the group urges members to secure their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the polls.
October 28, (THEWILL) – The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) in Akwa Ibom State have launched a grassroots mobilisation drive to secure massive votes for President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Umo Eno and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The group, a coalition of political support organisations, said it would leverage its local government and ward structures to sell the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Akwa Ibom Government’s ARISE Agenda to voters ahead of the elections.
The state coordinator, Obong Prince Ikim, disclosed this during a breakfast meeting with local government and ward coordinators and other members of the organisation, where he called for stronger coordination and intensified grassroots engagement.
Ikim described Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of the petrol subsidy and measures to stabilise the naira, as necessary interventions to avert further deterioration of the Nigerian economy.
He argued that the reforms had increased the financial resources available to state and local governments, creating opportunities for them to execute development projects and improve public services.
“This is the first time we have a president with the political will to stand firm and pull out fuel subsidy, and the political will to carry out reforms to better this country,” Ikim said.
He added: “As far as this country is concerned, if we did not have a President like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this country would have collapsed.”
The RHA coordinator also credited the President with supporting development in Akwa Ibom, while commending Governor Eno for implementing programmes under the ARISE Agenda.
He urged members to translate their support for the two administrations into an effective electoral campaign capable of delivering substantial votes for their candidates.
“Let us take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots; let us take the message of the ARISE Agenda to the grassroots. We have to reward them with votes, not just votes but massive votes,” he said.
Ikim acknowledged Governor Eno’s support for the organisation, saying the governor recognised its political capacity and had nominated him as the state coordinator.

A former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Aniekan Uko, also pledged to mobilise support for Tinubu, Akpabio, Eno and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Uko’s commitment reinforced the group’s resolve to deploy its political networks across the state to build support for the candidates as political activities ahead of the 2027 polls gather momentum.
Speaking on behalf of Eket Senatorial District, Charles Mbong urged members to prioritise voter registration awareness and ensure that their supporters obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), which are required to participate in the elections.
“We cannot win the upcoming election without encouraging our supporters to get their PVCs. Returning Tinubu, Akpabio, Umo Eno and other APC candidates is a task that must be done,” Mbong said.
The organisation said its mobilisation strategy would focus on strengthening coordination among its local government and ward structures, taking the administrations’ policy messages to communities and encouraging eligible voters to prepare for the polls.
