December 30, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu/Shettima Media and Publicity in the forthcoming general elections has been inaugurated in Sokoto State.
This was contained in a statement issued to journalists in Sokoto, by the Committee Secretary, Prince Tunde Omolehin. He stated that the inauguration of members was performed by its State Chairman, Aminu Mohammed, a former Senior Special Adviser on Media in Sokoto State.
In his inaugural address, Mohammed welcomed the members in attendance and solicited their support in achieving the committee’s mandate ahead of the presidential election.
He expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the APC-PCC Directorate, led by veteran Journalist/Media Executive, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, for finding the members worthy of their nominations.
The Chairman also eulogised the nomination of all members by the leadership of the APC-PCC, stressing that their appointments to the committee were a result of their good track records, professional pedigrees and their capacity to deliver on the task ahead.
Mohammed gave assurance that, with the composition of the committee members, there is no doubt that Sokoto State will emerge the best among other states to deliver on the Tinubu/Shetima media project ahead of the forthcoming presidential election in the state.
Speaking further, he highlighted some of the achievements and capacities of the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima, during their tenures as Governor of Lagos and Borno States, respectively.
According to him: “When you look at the track records of our presidential candidate and his running mate, you will agree with me that we have a good candidate and running mate to market before the public. We will do our best to achieve this despite the short time.”
The Chairman, however, tasked the members in attendance to come up with thoughtful ideas and suggestions that could enhance the committee’s preparedness in driving its mandate/responsibility ahead of the forthcoming presidential election in the state.
“After careful consideration and deliberations of some vital suggestions, fruitful ideas and valid recommendations, the meeting resolved to set up sub-committees that would coordinate various plans and strategies for effective coverage of the forthcoming presidential election in Sokoto State,” the statement reads in part.
