The Presidency says President Bola Tinubu is hale and hearty and will return to Nigeria this week after his working vacation, noting that the president would return to Lagos to participate in activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

Shettima gave the warning during a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, on the sidelines of the UNGA81, where he renewed Nigeria’s demand for urgent reform of the United Nations and stronger African representation in global decision-making.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians living abroad to take a more active stake in the country’s economic transformation, asking the Diaspora to invest capital, transfer expertise and help project Nigeria’s interests in the global economy.

Shettima stated this shortly after arriving in New York, United States, on Monday to represent President Bola Tinubu and lead Nigeria’s delegation to the high-level UNGA81 meetings.
