September 08, (THEWILL) – Popular zookeeper, Erik Cowie, is dead at the age of 53.
According to available information, the Netflix star was found “lying face down” in bed on Friday in New York City.
However, the news of his death hit headlines on Tuesday.
According to TMZ, a law enforcement source said: “There’s nothing suspicious about the death at this point and no drugs were found on the scene, though a toxicology test will likely still be performed.”
THEWILL writes that Cowie became famous on the Netflix show Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness alongside Joe Exotic.
He worked as an animal caretaker and he looked after big cats at the zoo.
