BEVERLY HILLS, March 26, (THEWILL) – Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan on Friday told the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola to be confident that he would survive all political brinkmanship around him.
The Deputy Governor in his remarks after an award of excellence in honour of Aregbesola said he should just watch his detractors and wait for God’s judgement.
He said, “I told Ogbeni this morning, ‘Aakiwaye k’ama l’ota’ (we dont come into this world with no detractors). Let them continue , you will survive.”
Olaniyan described Aregbesola as a “Governor Par Excellence.”
The Deputy said while coming for the award ceremony, he told his Governor Seyi Makinde “I am going to give honour to whom honour is due.”
He said Aregbesola is his mentor; adding that just as People regard the minister as Omoluwa, he is equally called Omoluabi in Oyo State.
“I am an ardent irredentist supporter of Aregbesola. He is the type of leader Nigeria should have to make great. He was in Osun for 8 years to serve and he did serve”, Olaniyan said
He called on politicians and leaders of today to be conscious that they will all become history .
Olaniyan recalled how in 2018, he rushed to Aregbesola for help on how he could secure the governorship ticket in Oyo, adding that Aregbesola quoted a verse of the Quran which admonished that “God gives power to whoever He so wishes.”
